Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Herndon, VA is seeking a Sr. Mgr., Engineering Management for Integration Systems & Encryption Functional Engineering. You will lead cross-discipline teams, set scope, schedule, budget, and drive technical quality across programs.

This role offers building scalable teams, partnering with senior leaders, and enforcing an 'Above the Line' ownership mindset, applying Agile and rapid prototyping while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of related experience; graduate degree with 10+ years.
• Alternate: 16 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Strong cross-functional leadership in matrixed environments.
• Experience with workforce planning, staffing strategy, recruiting, and talent development.
• Experience with EVMS/CAM responsibilities and proposal development.
• Active Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-discipline teams or a department, including planning, staffing, execution, and continuous improvement.
• Own functional execution for scope, schedule, budget, and technical quality across projects, pursuits, and programs.
• Implement and scale an integrated operating model with clear role ownership, decision rights, and accountability.
• Establish repeatable engineering processes, common tools, and shared metrics to enable segment-wide interoperability.
• Lead cross-functionally across a portfolio of programs to align priorities and deliver results.
• Build and maintain workforce and staffing plans to ensure the right talent capacity for current and future business needs.
• Own recruiting, hiring, performance management, coaching, succession planning, and development of high-performing teams.
• Drive disciplined engineering rigor and verification practices to improve first-time-right execution and reduce rework.
• Enable Agile delivery and rapid prototyping/simulation approaches while maintaining safety, compliance, and mission assurance requirements.
• Partner with Program Management, Chief Engineers, and functional peers on proposal activities, cost estimates, basis of estimate, and manpower planning.
• Communicate and influence effectively across internal and external stakeholders on matters of substantial importance.
• Ability to travel up to 10% (or as required by business needs).
