Job summary

L3Harris Technologies seeks a Senior Manager to lead Integration Systems & Encryption Functional Engineering in Herndon, VA or Camden, NJ on-site. You will guide cross-disciplinary teams, drive program execution, and enforce engineering discipline across a broad portfolio, with a focus on safety, security, and mission assurance.

The role emphasizes leadership, rapid prototyping, and collaboration with senior leadership to accelerate delivery while managing risk and compliance in a demanding

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of related experience or graduate degree with 10 years; or 16 years without degree.
• Broad management and cross-functional leadership experience across multi-discipline engineering teams.
• Experience with workforce planning, staffing strategy, recruiting, and talent development.
• Experience with EVMS/CAM responsibilities and proposal development (including BOE generation).
• Experience with program execution frameworks, schedule/cost performance, and risk-based technical planning.
• Active Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-discipline engineering teams with planning, staffing, execution, and continuous improvement.
• Own functional execution for scope, schedule, budget, and technical quality across projects and programs.
• Implement and scale an integrated operating model with clear ownership and accountability.
• Establish repeatable engineering processes, tools, and metrics for interoperability.
• Lead cross-functional coordination to align priorities and deliver results across a portfolio.
• Develop workforce plans and manage staffing for current and future needs.
• Oversee recruiting, performance management, and development of high-performing teams.
• Drive disciplined engineering rigor and verification practices to improve first-time-right execution.
• Enable Agile delivery and rapid prototyping while maintaining safety and compliance.
• Collaborate on proposals, cost estimates, basis of estimate, and manpower planning.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders on high-stakes issues.
• Travel up to 10% as required by business needs.
