Job summary

Tacoma Community College seeks an Associate Director for Facilities and Building Maintenance to lead operations, maintenance, and preventative care for the Tacoma and Gig Harbor campuses. You will coordinate a maintenance team, manage work orders, and drive safety, compliance, and efficiency in campus services.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a facilities-related field and 5+ years in facilities planning and operations, plus strong leadership and budget-management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Business Administration or closely related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in facilities planning, maintenance, and operations.
• Experience supervising and developing teams.
• Experience with regulatory compliance, building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
• Extensive facilities maintenance and operations experience in an institutional environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Facilities primary point of contact for operations and support services.
• Oversee stormwater systems to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Plan and manage site operations including electrical, plumbing, HVAC and general maintenance.
• Develop and manage work order systems to track and complete tasks on time and within budget.
• Supervise facilities staff according to college policy and bargaining agreements.
