Job summary

STACK Infrastructure in Denver is seeking a Senior Manager, Preconstruction to lead complex data center development from feasibility through transition to construction. You will integrate scope, schedule, budget, project strategy, and execution plans across multiple campuses with internal teams and external partners.

The role requires translating incomplete information into executable strategies, guiding cross-functional teams, and delivering clear recommendations to executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field and 7+ years in preconstruction or related roles.
• Strong conceptual estimating, scheduling, design development, and construction execution knowledge.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
• Proven ability to identify risks, evaluate options, and provide clear recommendations with incomplete information.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for senior stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Data center/large-scale construction experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Bluebeam, and estimating/scheduling tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an integrated project strategy covering scope, schedule, budget, phasing, procurement, execution approach, and key project risks.
• Lead budgets and schedules at conceptual and schematic levels, reflecting scope and market conditions.
• Evaluate incomplete information and develop assumptions and alternatives.
• Lead kickoff, strategy, risk, budget, schedule, and decision meetings with cross-functional teams.
• Identify project constraints and craft mitigation strategies and recommendations.
• Evaluate design, sequencing, procurement, and delivery approaches to improve speed-to-market.
• Lead variance analysis and communicate cost/schedule changes to leadership.
• Drive value engineering while maintaining performance and delivery goals.
• Collaborate with Development, Design, Construction, Finance, Commercial, Supply Chain, and others.
• Support underwriting, financial modeling, and capital planning with Finance.
• Build relationships with contractors, design partners, suppliers, and utilities.
• Support tenant pursuits and cost/schedule implications during negotiations.
