Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Manager (Professional Services) to hire and manage Big Data Engineers and Architects in Bengaluru. You will lead technical discussions, guide project delivery, and drive IP/tooling development for our data platform, partnering with stakeholders to prioritise work and ensure customer success.

You will oversee delivery teams, escalate issues as needed, and contribute to continuous improvement of internal processes and services, with a focus on achieving strategic objectives

Qualifications

• 12+ years of industry experience
• 6+ years in a customer facing role
• 4+ years leading a technical team of Data Engineers/Architects
• Extensive experience in Big Data ecosystem (Spark, Hadoop, Cassandra)
• Knowledge of AWS / Azure / GCP
• Experience estimating effort and scope for services
• Strong project management and documentation skills
• Excellent ability to manage multiple engagements and deliver high customer satisfaction
• Strong people skills to partner with key business stakeholders
• Familiarity with the company ecosystem is a plus

Responsibilities

• Hire great people and provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members
• Participate in key technical and design discussions with technical leads as a hands-on manager
• Lead development of IP, reusable tooling, and assets for field professional services teams and partners
• Partner with key business stakeholders to prioritise work and create products supporting the data platform
• Manage a team of technical data engineers to achieve customer, company, and team goals
• Act as the first escalation point for customers and coordinate rapid resolution of issues
• Provide input to grow and improve internal processes and customer success offerings
• Build and leverage customer relationships throughout the sales and delivery process
