Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to grow the AI/BI Dashboard product and service platform. You will lead multiple engineering teams of full stack/backend engineers and managers, and oversee recruitment and talent development across the groups.

You will align product vision with strategy, balance performance and cost, and drive scalable, high-quality software across the platform, collaborating with PM, CS, and other engineers to empower a growing user base.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in managing multiple teams that build and operate products and systems in a SaaS environment.
• 10+ years of experience with distributed systems and building products, platforms and services.
• Experience scaling engineering teams from 15 to 35+.
• BS or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong track record of attracting, hiring, and retaining top engineering talent.
• Experience managing distributed teams across multiple locations.
• Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced tech environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple talented engineering teams of full stack/backend engineers and SMEs as well as managers focused on the above initiatives.
• Oversee sustained recruitment of top-tier IC talent and Managers, and developing talent across the teams.
• Build processes to implement product vision and strategy, according to organizational goals and priorities.
• Build software that is not just high quality, but easy to operate.
• Manage technical debt, including long-term technical architecture decisions, and balance product roadmap.
