Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to grow the AI/BI Dashboard product and service platform. You will tackle challenging full-stack and backend problems, enabling fast, high-quality dashboard authoring and AI insights across the platform while scaling to millions of users.

You will report to the Director of Engineering and lead multiple teams, overseeing recruitment and talent development, and shaping processes to execute the product vision with emphasis on performance and cost

Qualifications

6+ years of experience in managing multiple teams that build and operate SaaS products and systems.
10+ years of experience with distributed systems and building products and platforms serving multiple teams and customers.
Experience scaling engineering teams from 15 to 35+ people.
BS or higher in Computer Science or related field.
Strong track record of attracting, hiring, and retaining top engineering talent.

Responsibilities

Lead multiple engineering teams of full stack/backend engineers and SMEs as well as managers focused on dashboard AI/BI initiatives.
Oversee sustained recruitment of ICs and managers and develop talent across teams.
Build processes to implement product vision and strategy aligned with organizational goals.
Build high-quality, easy-to-operate software and manage technical debt and long-term architecture decisions.
Balance roadmap with performance and cost considerations while guiding cross-location collaboration.
