Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is seeking a Senior Manager, Commissioning to lead and oversee commissioning for a major component of the Capital Program within the Delivery Department. This role requires strong leadership and expertise in vertical transportation, HVAC, and fire protection, with travel to project sites as needed.

The position offers telework eligibility (one day per week) and requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, plus a NY PE license

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum seven years in installation, troubleshooting, testing, inspection and acceptance of vertical transportation, HVAC, and fire protection.
• Qualified Elevator Inspector’s Certificate and/or NYS Professional Engineer’s License.
• Familiar with ASME A17 series, NYS Codes, NFPA, and NEC.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning for a major component of the MTA Capital Program within the Delivery Department.
• Escalate issues, make quick decisions, and ensure efficient and qualitative commissioning and testing.
• Oversee and develop managers and staff; direct a smaller commissioning team.
• Guide assessment of vertical transportation, HVAC, and fire protection in the Stations Business Unit.
• Apply the commissioning process and verify requirements through design and construction.
