Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group is seeking a Senior Manager, Application Development to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale applications, APIs, and cloud solutions for a large organization. This hands-on technical leadership role blends architecture with management, roughly 70% technical work and 30% people leadership.

You will guide solution design, own architecture, drive execution, and mentor a team of engineers (about 5-7).

Qualifications

10+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
5+ years of technical leadership or engineering management.
Strong hands-on architecture and solution design experience.
Java and Spring Boot development background.
Extensive REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations experience.
Cloud solutions on AWS with event-driven architectures.
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
Lead distributed engineering teams and apply Agile practices.
Exposure to AI-assisted software development or AI-enabled workflows.

Responsibilities

Lead architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise applications and modernization initiatives.
Provide hands-on technical leadership across Java, APIs, microservices, AWS, and AI-enabled solutions.
Develop high-level and low-level solution designs and ensure successful implementation.
Lead and mentor a team of approximately 5-7 engineers.
Drive projects from design through production delivery and collaborate with stakeholders.
Lead development of cloud applications using modern AWS architecture patterns.
Champion API-first design, observability, DevSecOps, and quality engineering.
