Job summary

West Monroe is seeking a Senior Manager to lead cost optimization and value creation engagements within our CFO Advisory team in Operations Excellence. You will drive diagnostics through implementation, establishing cost baselines and translating recommendations into executable initiatives.

Role requires 10+ years in cost optimization, strong financial analysis, and experience advising CFOs or PE-backed firms. Willingness to travel up to 50% and U.S. work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or related field.
• 10+ years in cost optimization, performance improvement, finance transformation or value creation with client-facing consulting.
• Led multiple material cost optimization programs from baseline to benefits realization.
• Advised CFOs, finance executives, or PE operating partners on cost and investment decisions.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and business cases for gross/net savings.
• Experience analyzing GL, payroll, procurement, vendor, organizational and operational data.
• Experience in at least four areas: workforce optimization, spans & layers, shared services, automation, technology rationalization, zero-based budgeting, etc.
• Experience advising mid-market and PE-backed firms; capable of scaling to $200M–$2B revenue.
• Proven success leading complex engagements and executive relationships; strong business development.
• Excellent communication; translate analyses into executive recommendations; manage risk and confidentiality.
• Ability to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship; willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end cost optimization and value creation engagements from diagnostics to implementation.
• Establish defensible cost baselines across labor, third-party spend, technology, facilities and other OPEX.
• Quantify opportunities in workforce productivity, outsourcing, automation, SSO, real estate and discretionary spend.
• Develop models showing gross/net savings, one-time costs, cash impact and EBITDA impact.
• Translate opportunities into executable initiatives with owners, milestones, risks and requirements.
• Design governance and benefits tracking aligned to budget, forecast and cash flow.
• Manage engagement scope, budget, profitability, staffing, risk, quality and client satisfaction.
