Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group seeks a Senior Manager, Application Development to lead architecture and delivery of enterprise-scale applications, APIs, integrations, and cloud solutions. 70% hands-on technical work with 30% engineering management, guiding a team of engineers in a fast-moving environment.

You will shape solution design, drive modernization, and collaborate with product, architecture, and business stakeholders to enable AI-enabled workflows and robust cloud-native apps.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 5+ years in technical leadership or engineering management.
• Hands-on architecture and solution design expertise.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot background.
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations.
• Cloud solutions on AWS; distributed architectures.
• SQL and NoSQL database experience.
• Lead complex programs from architecture to delivery.
• Experience guiding distributed engineering teams.
• Strong Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and observability practices.
• Exposure to AI-assisted software development tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise apps and modernization initiatives.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across Java, APIs, microservices, AWS, and AI-enabled solutions.
• Develop high-level and low-level solution designs and ensure successful implementation.
• Lead and mentor a team of 5–7 engineers.
• Drive projects from design through production delivery.
• Partner with product, architecture, engineering, and business stakeholders.
• Lead cloud app development using modern AWS patterns.
• Champion microservices, event-driven architecture, reusable services, and API-first design.
• Oversee API and integration design, security, and governance.
• Support AI-assisted development tools and AI-powered workflows.
• Advocate Agile, DevOps, DevSecOps, CI/CD, quality engineering, and observability.
