Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group seeks a Senior Manager, Application Development to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale applications, APIs, integrations, and cloud-based solutions. This hands-on role combines solution architecture with engineering leadership, mentoring a small team, and driving initiatives from design through production.

The ideal candidate has extensive Java/Spring Boot experience, API and microservices expertise, and a strong background in AWS and AI-enabled development

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive software engineering/application development experience.
• 5+ years of technical leadership and/or engineering management experience.
• Strong hands-on architecture and solution design experience.
• Strong development background with Java and Spring Boot.
• Extensive experience with REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations.
• Experience with cloud solutions on AWS and event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise applications and modernization initiatives.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across Java, APIs, microservices, AWS, and AI-enabled solutions.
• Develop high-level and low-level solution designs and ensure successful technical implementation.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineering resources.
• Drive projects and larger technical initiatives from design through production delivery.
• Partner with product, architecture, engineering, and business stakeholders.
• Lead development of cloud applications using modern AWS architecture patterns.
• Drive adoption of microservices, event-driven architecture, reusable services, and API-first design.
• Oversee enterprise API and integration design, development, security, and governance.
