Job summary

UCI Health in Orange County, CA, seeks a Commercial/Managed Care Collections/Denials Manager to lead hospital billing and revenue-cycle operations. You will supervise a team, oversee A/R, and ensure timely, accurate claims processing for Commercial, Managed Care, and government programs.

The role requires deep knowledge of medical billing, coding, and compliance, with strong leadership and analytical reporting abilities to optimize revenue and workflows.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of medical and insurance terminology, plus billing procedures.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Proficient in CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 coding, modifiers and related documentation.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication; able to convey complex information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Manage hospital accounts receivable and the collections/denials workflow for Commercial/Managed Care payers.
• Train, oversee staff, and address performance and workflow issues.
• Analyze A/R performance and prepare dashboards/reports to optimize results.
• Collaborate with department leaders to resolve billing and coding issues yielding clean first-pass billing.
