Job summary

University of California, Irvine Health is seeking a Commercial/Managed Care Collections/Denials Manager to lead hospital A/R, collections, denials, and payer workflows. The role requires deep knowledge of medical billing, coding, and strong leadership for a busy CS team.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Patient Financial Services, you will oversee performance metrics, ensure compliance, and collaborate with multiple departments to achieve first-pass clean billing and improved revenue

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of medical billing and insurance terminology and procedures.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 coding and related docs.

Responsibilities

• Manage hospital accounts receivable, collections, denials, and workflow for Commercial/Managed Care payers.
• Provide training, supervise staff, and analyze A/R performance to improve recovery.
• Serve as liaison between Patient Financial Services and department leaders to resolve billing issues.
