Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Commercial/Managed Care Collections/Denials Manager to lead hospital A/R operations, ensure accurate billings and timely collections across commercial and managed care payers. The role requires deep knowledge of medical billing, coding, and regulatory compliance, plus strong leadership and analytics.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of medical and insurance terminology and billing/collections procedures.
• Strong time management and organization skills.
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 coding, LCD, NCD, MUE, CCI, modifiers and authorizations.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage hospital accounts receivable (A/R) and the collections, denial, and workflow activities for Commercial/Managed Care payers.
• Certify timely, accurate account evaluation and resolution while ensuring compliance with procedures and regulations.
• Train, manage performance, perform A/R analysis and resolve operational issues; provide leadership to staff.
• Serve as liaison between Patient Financial Services and department leaders to optimize charges and claim adjudication.
