Job summary

Northfield Hospital + Clinics is seeking a Lead Mammography Technologist to oversee mammography and bone density imaging. You will mentor staff, supervise daily workflows, ensure safety standards, and coordinate with the Diagnostic Imaging Director to deliver high-quality patient care.

The role emphasizes competency development, performance reviews, and implementing quality improvement initiatives while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• ARRT registration in Radiology and Mammography; minimum two years experience.
• Must be enrolled in NH+C RQI program for BLS certification and complete within 90 days; remain current.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training (NVCI).
• Workplace Violence education in New Employee Orientation and annually thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent and compassionate patient care; demonstrates leadership and serves as a role model for staff.
• Orients, mentors and assures proper training and competency testing of staff; collaborates with Hospital Radiology Supervisor when standards not met.
• Collaborates with Imaging Quality and Safety Coordinator for safety/quality assurance; coordinates equipment maintenance and recommendations for new equipment.
• Responsible for personal and professional development; acts as the subject matter expert for the modality.
• Identifies opportunities for process and quality improvement; supports new technology and department initiatives.
• Provides input for staff hires and performance reviews; coordinates staff work activities and optimizes productivity.
• Ensures continuity of care and establishes standard of practice; promotes staff growth and engagement.
