Job summary

Northfield Hospital + Clinics is seeking a Lead Mammography Technologist to deliver high-quality mammography and bone density imaging while mentoring staff and upholding safety and regulatory standards in partnership with the Diagnostic Imaging Director. • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English for healthcare communication.

Responsibilities

Job description

Lead Mammography Technologist

Summary

Successfully meet the needs of patients and families by delivering excellent patient care, performing a variety of mammography procedures and bone density scans in a compassionate manner, and in accordance with established practices. Works in tandem with the Diagnostic Imaging Director to provide the best patient care experience possible and supports the Diagnostic Imaging Staff in creating an enjoyable and productive work environment. Responsible for competency of staff and provides oversight to staff in diagnostic or specialty area. Duties include interviewing, scheduling staff, providing input for staff hires and performance reviews, directing daily work activities, ensuring quality, safety and regulatory compliance, and other related tasks. Perform all duties of the staff technologist for given area.

Compensation

We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The hourly wage range for this position is $42.70-$60.28. This range reflects the base rate for this position.

Key Accountabilities

• Provides excellent and compassionate patient care; demonstrates leadership and serves as a role model for staff, using time and resources effectively, and demonstrates a positive attitude;
• Orients, mentors and assures proper training and complete competency testing of new and existing employees to ensure high level of competency among team members. Collaborates with Hospital Radiology Supervisor when staff quality/performance does not meet standards
• Collaborates with Imaging Quality and Safety Coordinator for safety and quality assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer’s recommendations, proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment, coordination of equipment repair and participation in recommendation of new equipment.
• Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for the position, and is the source of expertise for given modality or specialty area.
• Identifies opportunities for and participates in process and quality improvement initiatives, and supports new technology and department/organizational initiatives
• Provides input for staff hires and performance reviews, coordinates and directs staff work activities and optimizes staff productivity.
• Ensures continuity of care and establishes standard of practice and patient care. Promote staff growth, development and employee engagement in a supportive learning environment
• Meets all role expectations of the staff technologist in applicable specialty area

Required Qualifications

• ARRT(R)(M) - ARRT registration in Radiology and Mammography and minimum two years experience
• Must be enrolled in NH+C RQI program for BLS certification and complete the requirements within 90 days of enrollment. Must remain current (complete quarterly assignments prior to the end of each calendar quarter).
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training (NVCI).
• Workplace Violence education in New Employee Orientation and annually thereafter
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently to ensure safe and effective communication in a healthcare environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Registration in given diagnostic or specialty area as noted above, and minimum five years' experience.

Schedule

• 64 hours per two-week pay period (0.8 FTE)
• Varied weekday shifts: Start times as early as 7:00 AM and end times as late as 5:00 PM.
