The Lead Technologist will oversee scheduling, safety, and accreditation readiness while collaborating with medical teams. This role requires strong leadership, extensive mammography experience, and a commitment to continuous improvement and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• ARRT-M and ARRT-R certifications.
• BLS/ACLS certification.
• Licensed by the relevant state medical board (as applicable).
• Minimum of 5 years’ clinical experience in mammography within a hospital or ambulatory setting.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a clinical setting, with the ability to manage departmental staff and workflows.
• Ability to lift and assist patients as needed in the performance of job duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams for patients of all ages and conditions, ensuring adherence to established imaging protocols.
• Lead departmental operations, including scheduling, daily assignments, and coordination with diagnostic, nursing, and physician teams to optimize patient flow.
• Maintain compliance with quality standards, accreditation requirements, and safety protocols.
• Monitor equipment readiness, quality control processes, and record-keeping to ensure accurate and complete patient information.
• Provide mentorship, coaching, and preceptorship to less experienced technologists, supporting professional growth.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives, including incident reporting, corrective actions, and workflow optimization.
• Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and families, addressing concerns and ensuring a compassionate patient experience.
• Support process improvement and customer service initiatives across the department.
• Conduct walking rounds to ensure availability of supplies, equipment, and safe conditions throughout the department.
• Collaborate with management to identify staffing needs, schedule coverage, and participate in recruitment and interview processes.
