Job summary

TekSynap is seeking a Major Incident Response Technician to join our team at Joint Base Andrews, MD. The role covers full incident management lifecycle and requires active DoD experience, DoD-friendly operational discipline, and clear communication with government leadership.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance is required.
• Active CompTIA Security+ certification required.
• Associate degree in computer science/systems or related field or equivalent training.
• Education/experience substitutions: BA+4 years or no degree with 8 years total experience, 6 of which are specialized.
• 5+ years’ relevant incident management experience, with 3+ years specialized.
• Minimum 2 years’ DoD environment work experience.
• Strong understanding of network equipment, architecture, and capabilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide phone and in-person support for users on email, directories, Windows apps, and contract-developed applications.
• Serve as initial contact for troubleshooting PC and printer hardware/software problems.
• Proactively identify and classify major IT incidents and events using data from AFNCR centers and monitoring tools.
• Triage and coordinate by engaging internal and external resolution teams for swift responses.
• Establish and facilitate troubleshooting conference bridges; communicate status to all stakeholders from start to resolution.
• Maintain situational awareness of incident status and collaborate on root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
