Job summary

The Nature Conservancy’s NM Associate Director of Development II role focuses on managing a donor portfolio, cultivating existing supporters, and shaping multi-year strategies for gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations to advance conservation goals in New Mexico.

The successful candidate will close gifts of $50,000+, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and leverage donor databases and metrics to track progress and impact. Santa Fe, NM-based with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 6 years related experience or equivalent.
• Experience building and maintaining long-term fundraising relationships.
• Experience closing gifts of $50,000+.
• Experience managing multiple prospects and donors.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in large non-profit.
• Experience with fundraising principles and practices.
• Experience or training in capital campaigns, major gifts or planned giving.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of 60–100 donors, including donors with the capacity to give over $250,000, once the portfolio is developed.
• Be responsible for 75–110 visits and 180–300 moves annually.
• Meet or exceed annual fundraising goal of $1,000,000 or more, along with a goal for bequest notifications.
