Job summary

The Nature Conservancy is seeking an Associate Director of Development II for our New Mexico team in Santa Fe. This role manages a donor portfolio, cultivates existing supporters, and builds a pipeline for major gifts to advance conservation goals.

You will work with the Development Team, State Director and leaders to plan multi-year fundraising strategies, meet annual goals, and coordinate with cross-functional partners. A bachelor's degree and substantial fundraising experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years related experience or an equivalent combination.
  • Experience building and maintaining long-term relationships with fundraising constituents.
  • Experience in asking for and closing gifts of $50,000 or more.
  • Experience in managing and tracking multiple prospects and donors.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, preferably in a large non-profit.
  • Experience working with fundraising principles and practices.
  • Experience, coursework, or training in capital campaigns, major gifts or planned giving.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of 60–100 donors, including donors with capacity to give over $250,000 as the portfolio grows.
  • Be responsible for 75–110 visits and 180–300 moves annually.
  • Meet or exceed annual fundraising goal of $1,000,000 or more, and bequest goals.
