Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Major Case Specialist to manage complex auto claims from initiation to resolution in California. You will investigate, evaluate damages, negotiate settlements, and coordinate with legal and underwriting teams to ensure compliant handling of high-value claims.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree with at least ten years of auto claims and litigation experience, plus strong communication and strategic claims management skills.

Qualifications

• Ten years of experience in handling major Auto claims and managing litigation.
• Strong negotiation and investigative skills are required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee major Auto claims from initiation to resolution, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Conduct detailed investigations to gather evidence, assess liability and determine damages.
• Evaluate claim information to make informed coverage and settlement decisions.
• Engage in negotiations with claimants, legal representatives, and others to achieve fair settlements.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all claim activities, communications and decisions.
• Prepare and present detailed reports on claim status, trends and outcomes to senior management.
• Work closely with legal, underwriting and other departments to ensure coordinated claim handling.
• Apply litigation management strategies through the selection of counsel and evaluation.
