Job summary

The Maintenance Specialist III at the Texas Health & Human Services Commission, Kerrville State Hospital, performs journeyman-level maintenance across building systems including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and carpentry. You will inspect, repair, and document work while supporting safety and reliability for campus operations.

This full-time position requires at least vocational training in one of the trades and a few years of maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• Vocational training in electrical, plumbing, or related trades required.
• Minimum two years’ experience in construction, maintenance, or equipment repair.
• Valid Texas driver license or ability to obtain within 90 days after hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, adjustments, maintenance and repair on building systems per codes.
• Maintain records and complete work orders; communicate findings clearly.
• Operate heavy machinery as needed and provide guidance to others.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure safe, reliable campus operations.
