Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Maintenance Specialist III at San Antonio State Hospital to perform complex building maintenance across trades. The role involves inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance of building systems, with responsibilities including work order documentation and equipment operation.

The position supports disaster response and COOP as needed. The job requires vocational trade training or equivalent and experience in multiple trades,

Qualifications

• Vocational training in electrical, plumbing, masonry, mechanical, carpentry or related trades.
• Minimum two years in construction, maintenance, or equipment repair.
• Six months in at least two additional trades.
• Valid Texas driver license or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Ability to pass background checks and immunization policy compliance.

Responsabilités

• Perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on building systems such as plumbing, HVAC, electrical.
• Maintain records of work orders and materials.
• Operate heavy machinery when required.
• Train and guide others on procedures.
• Support disaster response and COOP as needed.
