Job summary

Health & Human Services Comm in San Antonio State Hospital seeks a Maintenance Specialist III to perform complex journey-level building maintenance and repair work across trades, ensuring safe, reliable campus operations.

You will inspect, install, and repair plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, painting, and other systems; maintain records and work orders; and may train others. Requires vocational trades training or equivalent experience and a valid Texas driver's license.

Qualifications

• Vocational training in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, welding, painting, masonry or related trades.
• Ability to inspect, repair and maintain building systems and equipment.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Attends regular shifts; may work fixed or rotating schedule.
• Performs inspections, maintenance and repairs on building systems across trades.
• Repairs/renovates buildings and identifies materials and costs.
• Maintains work orders, materials, and records; may train others.
• Operates heavy machinery as needed and supports disaster response or COOP.
• Ensures safe, uninterrupted campus operations and systems.
