Job summary

AvalonBay Communities, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician II for our Georgetown, Texas community.

This full‑time role (40 hours weekly) focuses on diagnosing and repairing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general systems to keep our apartment homes in top condition. Responsibilities include completing service requests promptly, ensuring vacant homes are rent‑ready, performing preventative maintenance, assisting with interior/exterior painting, and upholding safety policies.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in maintenance work including HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to accommodate an on‑call schedule in rotation with the team each month.
• Ability to read and understand policies and procedures including safety policies and SDS.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs HVAC, electrical, plumbing, major appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, and other maintenance areas.
• Completes assigned service requests and repairs promptly according to standards.
• Ensures vacant apartment homes are rent‑ready in a timely manner.
• Performs apartment preventative maintenance.
• Assists in painting both interior and exterior surfaces.
• Maintains a safe work culture by following safety policies and reporting hazards.
• Performs hot works including brazing, soldering, and welding within company standards.
