Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Service Technician to maintain and repair building systems, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and functionality across the property. Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, completing make-readies for vacant units, and documenting work orders.

Role requires EPA refrigerant certifications, state/local credentials, and a valid driver’s license for property tasks. The position may involve varied shifts, weather exposure, and occasional travel between properties.

Qualifications

• EPA certifications Type 1 and II or Universal for refrigerant recycling.
• All required state and local certifications.
• Valid driver’s license to operate golf cart on property, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose the source of defects from resident service requests and perform repairs per safety standards and codes.
• Complete the make-ready process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch lists, scheduling vendors, and obtaining supplies.
• Track inventory, access materials from the maintenance department, and notify the supervisor when re-ordering is needed.
• Document service requests accurately to ensure proper recording and tracking.
• Assist in maintaining grounds, common areas, and amenities, including cleaning and painting as needed.
• Support cost-cutting by repairing rather than replacing parts when possible and using tools correctly.
• Periodically inspect work by contractors to verify quality and scope.
• Conduct routine and periodic property inspections to identify safety and risk concerns and communicate needs to management.
