Qualifications

• Six years minimum experience as a mechanic with rolling stock repair and related skills.
• HS Diploma or equivalent required; degree acceptable.
• ICS 100 & 200 certification and trade licenses preferred.
• Fall protection and confined space training preferred.
• Gas and diesel engine repair and troubleshooting skills valued.
• Heavy equipment operation qualifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operates, repairs and maintains machinery and equipment including engines, hydraulics and conveyors.
• Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled and directed.
• Locates problems using instruments and observation; reasons and fixes issues.
• Lubricates, cleans and inspects parts and systems; uses hand/power tools safely.
• Follows safety procedures and Trident Protocols; may supervise a small team.
• Issues purchase orders for parts and equipment as needed.
• Notifies supervisors of issues or deviations from procedures.
