Job summary

Trident Seafoods in Alaska is seeking a Factory Technician to repair, adjust, and maintain seafood processing machinery in a shore plant production facility. You will work on pumps, motors, conveyors, and related equipment.

The role requires a high school diploma, basic mechanical skills, and a willingness to perform preventive maintenance in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in loud conditions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2 years’ experience in applicable position or similar experience or applicable accredited technical training.
• HAZWOPER certified or ability to get certified in 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance and repair requirements on motors, pumps, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyor systems, and production machines as directed.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and applying precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, and straightedges.
• Performs routine daily maintenance and adjustments to equipment as required to meet production goal and requests.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
