Job summary

Trident Seafoods is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic in Alaska to operate, repair and maintain a variety of machinery and systems essential to our seafood processing operations. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and ensure safety protocols are followed in a harsh, outdoor environment.

Ideal candidates have two years’ mechanical experience or a trades school credential, plus proficiency with forklifts, pumps, hydraulics, motors and marine equipment.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience as a mechanic or trades school degree.
• Knowledge and proficiency with general equipment such as forklifts, pumps, hydraulics, motors, and marine equipment.
• Basic troubleshooting skills.
• Recommendation from supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Operates, repairs and maintains machinery and equipment including engines, motors, pneumatics and conveyors.
• Performs preventive maintenance according to schedule.
• Locates problems by observing devices, listening for issues, and using testing instruments.
• Lubricates, cleans and inspects parts and equipment.
• Follows safety procedures and engineering specifications.
• Troubleshoots and repairs rolling stock equipment.
