THE OPPORTUNITY:

Position Summary:

Leads, coordinates, and performs maintenance and repair work across campus to ensure operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness of systems and equipment.


Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Enforce safety regulations for facility operations, buildings, and equipment, complying with federal, state, and local laws, as well as College standards.
  2. Respond to work orders, assign tasks, or complete repairs, ensuring quality and timely completion. Recommend outside contractor involvement when necessary.
  3. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, roofing, paving, and more. Measure, plan, and purchase materials for projects.
  4. Serve as the onsite contact for maintenance activities and coordinate work with contractors and staff.
  5. Manage inventory, operate tools safely, and train staff on safety procedures.
  6. Communicate effectively with staff, management, vendors, and contractors about operations and repairs.
  7. Assist in ongoing operations, suggest safety and environmental improvements, and document work performed.
  8. Represent the department professionally, maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
  9. Perform additional maintenance tasks as needed, remaining flexible to departmental schedules.
Education & Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent required, with at least three years of hands-on experience in facilities maintenance and construction. Certified training in trades preferred; supervisory experience is a plus.

Special Skills:

Proficient in skilled trades, safe operation of tools, and understanding of building codes. Ability to read blueprints, communicate effectively, organize, prioritize, and multitask.
