Job summary

Cortland is seeking a Service Manager to lead the maintenance team at a multifamily community. You will oversee electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural systems, ensuring safety, reliability, and resident satisfaction.

You will manage daily tasks, mentor staff, and coordinate with vendors while maintaining budget and records with a strong focus on preventative maintenance and high quality service.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in maintenance, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
• EPA and CPO certifications are required.
• Leadership skills to train, mentor, and manage a maintenance team.
• Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, ADA, and Fair Housing laws.

Responsibilities

• Lead the maintenance team and oversee all maintenance operations.
• Guide preventative maintenance programs and staffing; manage budget and inventory.
• Coordinate with vendors and ensure safety and quality standards are met.
• Maintain a strong safety culture and on‑call support as needed.
