Job summary

Cortland is seeking a Service Manager at Valley Ranch in Irving, TX to lead the maintenance team for a multifamily community. You will oversee electrical, plumbing, HVAC and safety programs, drive preventative maintenance, and coordinate with vendors to deliver high-quality service that protects assets and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5+ years in maintenance, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
• High school diploma required; technical training or college coursework preferred.
• EPA and CPO certifications are required.
• Valid Class E driver’s license.
• Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, ADA, and Fair Housing laws.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance instructions and manuals.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations.
• Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks (lifting, climbing, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead a maintenance team to ensure safety, reliability, and resident satisfaction.
• Diagnose and repair issues across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural systems.
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs and scheduling.
• Manage on-call rotations, staffing, and task prioritization.
