Job summary

Cortland is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our multifamily portfolio in the United States. You will perform basic maintenance, diagnose issues with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, and ensure that communities remain safe and well-maintained for residents.

EPA certification is required with 1-3 years of experience in facilities services or multifamily resident satisfaction. On-call shifts may be required to support residents and property operations.

Qualifications

• EPA certification and 1-3 years of maintenance or facilities services experience in multifamily settings.
• Experience or knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact with residents to identify, diagnose, repair, and resolve issues related to electrical, plumbing, A/C and heating systems, appliances, stairs, railings, gas fixtures, carpet, tiles, flooring, etc.
• Correct unsafe conditions (open holes, broken glass or gates, broken lights) and assign work to staff to ensure timely completion.
• Ensure asset preservation by checking security systems like automatic doors and surveillance cameras.
• Schedule preventive maintenance programs for all equipment and ensure good working condition.
• Manage inventory of supplies and spare parts so that work orders are completed as requested.
• Work on-call shifts to assist with resident and property emergencies.
