Job summary

Insteel Industries, Inc. seeks a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance team in a heavy manufacturing environment. You will supervise setting up, repairing, and maintaining machinery, ensuring optimal equipment utilization and safety adherence.

You will oversee multi-craft maintenance, Coordinate with other supervisors and manage CMMS, including preventative care and scheduling of capital projects. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Broad technical training required (high school plus 1–3 years apprenticeship/applied trades training or 2-year associate degree).
• Work in all facets of the technical field including industrial electrical (3-phase), controls and devices, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, mathematics, and hand tool usage (welding, machining, cutting).
• Minimum 7 years’ experience leading and directing a manufacturing maintenance team.
• CMMS experience preferred.
• Steel wire manufacturing experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities of workers setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment.
• Lead team in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
• Manage maintenance of production machinery and support equipment (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic).
• Assist workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
• Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements; adjust procedures to meet schedules.
• Interpret specifications and blueprints; assign duties.
• Coordinate with other supervisors to align department activities.
• Proactively diagnose and perform preventative care of equipment.
• Manage MAXIMO CMMS and supervise CMMS point person.
• Ensure department safety practices are followed.
