Job summary

Insteel Industries is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Technician to support our heavy manufacturing operations. You will maintain automation machinery, inspect equipment, and read mechanical drawings to ensure optimal performance while following Lockout/Tagout safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in industrial maintenance, 2+ years in manufacturing, and CMMS familiarity. This role is on-site in a fast-paced plant with strong safety expectations.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 3 years of industrial machinery maintenance experience.
• Broad technical training (high school plus 1–2 years of apprenticeship/applied trades training) with basic shop math.
• Minimum 2 years mechanical experience in manufacturing; multi-craft preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.
• Organizational CMMS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain industrial automation machinery.
• Conduct equipment inspections for proper operation and mechanical integrity.
• Read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Possess working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout.
• Troubleshoot components and diagnose system failures.
• Have knowledge of electrical components and concepts.
• Possess knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatics.
• Perform other mechanical duties as assigned.
• Work independently while adhering to safety procedures.
