Job summary

Insteel Industries, Inc. in Missouri is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial mechanical systems.

You will fabricate parts, align gears and shafts, fit bearings, and connect motors to keep production moving while adhering to ALARA and ZERO HARM safety goals. The role requires reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics, knowledge of lockout/tagout, and multi-craft experience in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial machinery maintenance experience.
• Broad technical training (high school plus 1-2 years of apprenticeship or applied trades training).
• Minimum of 2 years mechanical experience in manufacturing; multi-craft preferred.
• Equivalency of education/work experience may be acceptable.
• CMMS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain industrial automation machinery.
• Conduct equipment inspections for proper operation and mechanical integrity.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Apply Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Troubleshoot components and diagnose system failures.
• Understand electrical components, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Work independently and complete tasks on schedule.
• Follow safety procedures to ensure ALARA and ZERO HARM goals.
