Job summary

Ocado Group, a leading online grocery innovator, is seeking a Senior Maintenance Engineer for its North America operations. The role focuses on reactive and planned maintenance of mechanical handling equipment at the Customer Fulfillment Center, including conveyors, lifts and cranes.

Initial training spanning 6–9 weeks may require travel to North America. You will work with Inbound, Pick and Dispatch teams to optimize asset performance, mentor other engineers, and support commissioning of new

Qualifications

• Associate or Vocational degree in electrical or mechanical discipline.
• 5+ years direct experience in mechanical or electrical field.
• Experience in FMCG environment preferable.
• Experience with controls, fault analysis and solutions.
• Experience with reactive and preventative maintenance.
• Strong organization and communication in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Comfort working at heights and with access equipment.
• Good automation hardware/software knowledge.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Numerate and PC literate (G-Suite and MS Office).

Responsibilities

• React to MHE breakdowns (mechanical/electrical) and perform timely fixes.
• Keep accurate records of work activities and parts used.
• Align priorities and monitor KPIs to support operations.
• Mentor assigned maintenance engineers and guide teams.
• Perform assembly and sub-assembly repairs per instructions.
• Improve machine reliability with cross-department collaboration.
• Attend meetings, analyze data and implement solutions.
• Contribute to projects for engineering installation and commissioning.
• Ensure safety through quality inspections.
