Job summary

Ocado Group is seeking a Senior Maintenance Engineer to lead reactive and planned maintenance at our Customer Fulfillment Center. You’ll fix mechanical handling equipment, keep thorough records, and work with cross-functional teams to meet daily objectives.

The role requires electrical/mechanical qualifications and 5+ years’ experience in FMCG maintenance, with travel for training in North America. It involves shifts, safety compliance, and potential startup support.

Qualifications

• Associate's or vocational degree in electrical or mechanical discipline or equivalent training.
• Five years of direct experience in mechanical or electrical field.
• Strong electrical experience in FMCG environment recommended.
• Experience with controls, fault analysis and solving.
• Experience with reactive and preventive maintenance.
• Strong organization and communication skills in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Comfort working at height with access equipment.
• Good technical ability with automation hardware/software.
• Numerate and PC literate (G-Suite/MS Office).

Responsibilities

• React to MHE breakdowns, locate fault, fix quickly to minimize downtime.
• Keep records of work activities, parts used, and tasks.
• Align priorities and monitor KPIs to support operational goals.
• Collaborate with inbound, pick, dispatch and support teams daily.
• Mentor maintenance engineers and oversee priorities.
• Perform assembly and sub-assembly repairs per instructions.
• Improve machine reliability with other departments.
• Attend meetings, analyze data, and propose improvements.
• Participate in installation and commissioning projects.
• Complete quality inspections to ensure safe standards.
