Job summary

Ensono is seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer – Hardware to provide ongoing support for mainframe hardware, troubleshoot issues, and manage maintenance. The role emphasizes proactive hardware management, incident response, and collaboration with client sites.

You will contribute to DR planning and process automation. Ideal candidates have strong mainframe hardware knowledge, DB/IO tuning capabilities, and familiarity with IBM tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and/or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of related mainframe hardware experience.
• Experience in Hardware Management Consoles for mainframe hardware (Processor, DISK, TAPE).
• Knowledge in DISK and TAPE Architecture.
• Extensive knowledge in IOCP/IOCDS/IODF.
• Experience in IBM’s Copy Service Manager.
• Knowledge in VTAM/TCPIP concepts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hardware on current microcode levels.
• Support client transitions/migrations.
• Perform DASD/TAPE replication and configure storage as needed.
• Troubleshoot Sev1/Sev2 incidents and assist with DR activities.
• Create tools and processes to improve team productivity.
• Produce documentation and automation to support workload.
