Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer – Hardware to provide ongoing support for all mainframe hardware, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and maintenance. The role covers on-call 24x7 operations and collaboration with clients to ensure seamless transitions and reliable performance.

The candidate will maintain microcode levels, handle hardware configurations, and contribute to DR activities while mentoring team members and creating automated tooling to improve productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Experience with hardware management consoles for mainframe hardware.
• Knowledge of DISK and TAPE architecture; IOCP/IOCDS/IODF.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hardware on current microcode levels and perform IOGEN/configuration tasks.
• Support client transitions/migrations and DASD/TAPE replication.
• Troubleshoot Sev1/Sev2 incidents and assist with DR activities.
• Create tools and processes to improve productivity and automation.
• Mentor team members and document standard work procedures.
