Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer for Hardware in the United States. You will be responsible for ongoing support of mainframe hardware including troubleshooting, problem resolution, and maintenance, with 24x7 on-call duties.

You will proactively maintain hardware, support transitions, perform DASD/TAPE replication, configure storage, participate in Sev1/Sev2 incidents, and help with DR activities. Remote work option available.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required and/or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in Hardware Management Consoles for mainframe hardware such as Processor, DISK and TAPE.
• Knowledge in DISK and TAPE Architecture.
• Extensive Knowledge in IOCP/IOCDS/IODF.
• Experience in IBM’s Copy Service Manager.
• Knowledge in VTAM/TCPIP concepts.
• Ability to diagnose and handle common hardware issues and resolve them promptly.
• Ability to analyse performance on DASD and Tape subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Proactively maintain hardware on current microcode levels.
• Support new client business transitions/migrations.
• Performs IOCP/IOCDS/IODF tasks and other hardware configuration work.
• Perform DASD/TAPE replication using different technology.
• Configure Storage and Processor as needed (DASD model conversions, updating MSUs).
• Participate in Sev1/Sev2 incident problem resolution.
• Assist with DR activities.
• Troubleshoot major system issues and escalate to vendors for service restoration.
• Create new tools and processes to increase productivity and efficiency.
• Document standard procedures and automation to support workload.
• Collaborate with accounts and clients when technical consulting is required.
• Perform ITIL tasks such as change management (ticketing, changes).
• Provide 24x7 on-call support/service restoration/root cause analysis.
