Job summary

Ensono is seeking a Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer – Hardware to maintain, troubleshoot, and support mainframe hardware across client environments. The role involves 24x7 on-call support, problem resolution for Sev1/Sev2 incidents, and collaboration with clients on technical consulting.

The candidate will help with DR activities, tooling development, and documentation to improve team productivity, with a strong emphasis on hardware management and performance analysis.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with Hardware Management Consoles for Mainframe hardware.
• Knowledge of DISK and TAPE Architecture.
• Extensive knowledge of IOCP/IOCDS/IODF.
• Experience with IBM Copy Service Manager.
• Knowledge of VTAM/TCPIP concepts.
• Ability to diagnose hardware issues and resolve them promptly.
• Ability to analyze performance on DASD and Tape subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Proactively maintain hardware on current microcode levels.
• Support client transitions and migrations.
• Perform DASD/TAPE replication with various technologies.
• Configure storage and processors as needed.
• Participate in Sev1/Sev2 incident resolution.
• Assist with disaster recovery activities.
• Create tools and processes to improve productivity.
• Document standard procedures and automate workload support.
• Collaborate with accounts and clients on technical consulting.
• Perform ITIL tasks such as change management.
