Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Mainframe Capacity & Performance Engineer to join our Enterprise Infrastructure team. You will lead capacity planning, workload analysis, and performance optimization across IBM z/OS environments to ensure scalable, reliable mainframe operations.

The role partners with cross-functional teams, drives MIPS reduction initiatives, and supports major business events. On-call rotation and real-time diagnostics are expected in this enterprise role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years supporting enterprise IBM mainframe environments (z/OS).
• 5+ years in capacity planning and performance engineering.
• 3+ years analyzing utilization trends and forecasting capacity.
• 3+ years using mainframe monitoring tools to resolve bottlenecks.
• 2+ years using MS Office, including Advanced Excel reporting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize enterprise mainframe resources and capacity.
• Conduct capacity planning, forecasting, trend analysis, and diagnostics.
• Identify high-resource consumers and implement optimization strategies to reduce MIPS.
• Develop utilization reports and guidance for infrastructure investments.
• Provide leadership for testing, QA reviews, and on-call incident support.
