Job summary
Cognizant is seeking a Senior Mainframe MQ Developer with 7+ years of experience in IBM MQ, mainframe technologies, and Healthcare Claims processing. Lead design, development, and optimization of MQ-based messaging solutions and Claims applications across onshore/offshore teams.
The role emphasizes enterprise integration, reliability, and compliance, with responsibilities spanning development, testing, deployments, and post-implementation support in an Agile environment.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience with IBM MQ and mainframe technologies.
- Experience with Healthcare Claims Adjudication processes and related business workflows.
- Strong knowledge of code migration and release management practices.
- Experience creating and promoting code across Development, Test, QA and Production.
- Familiarity with post-deployment validation and backout procedures.
- Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration with offshore/onshore teams.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement MQ-based solutions for Claims applications.
- Design, test, and maintain mainframe Claims apps using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, and MQ.
- Collaborate with analysts, QA, PMs, and support teams to deliver projects.
- Provide technical leadership and coordinate onsite-offshore activities.
- Serve as a point of contact for technical issue resolution.
- Troubleshoot production issues and optimize performance.
- Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards.
- Support SIT, UAT, deployments, and post-implementation activities.
