Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain Healthcare Claims applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, and MQ.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, efficient mainframe technical solutions.
• Analyze existing applications and implement enhancements, fixes, and performance improvements.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA teams, Project Managers, Production Support, and business stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Participate in application design, technical discussions, code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and defect resolution.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Support application performance optimization and adherence to coding standards.
• Manage and support code migration and release activities across environments.
• Support SIT, UAT, production deployments, post-implementation validation, and backout procedures.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to offshore development team members.
• Coordinate onsite/offshore development activities and serve as a key technical point of contact for issue resolution.
• Ensure solutions meet business, technical, security, compliance, and operational requirements.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, technical discussions, and continuous improvement.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Developer with 8+ years of hands-on experience in mainframe application development, preferably within the Healthcare Claims domain. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, and MQ, along with experience in claims adjudication workflows, production support, release management, and Agile development environments.

The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining scalable and reliable mainframe applications while collaborating closely with business stakeholders, QA teams, project managers, and offshore development teams.
