Job summary

WideNet Consulting Group is seeking a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer specializing in mainframe operations within the US. You will lead daily mainframe health, coordinate with a managed service provider, and guide incident response while contributing to modernization initiatives.

You will work hands-on with ESP Scheduler, Endevor, CICS, DB2, and COBOL, ensuring secure, compliant, and efficient operation across teams in a remote US-based setting.

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant technical certification or equivalent work experience.
• 6-9 years of cumulative, relevant experience.
• Background in financial services is a plus.
• Agile/Scrum team experience.
• Exposure to infrastructure automation and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily health, stability, and performance of mainframe systems and tools.
• Bridge between application teams and the managed service provider for changes and upgrades.
• Manage incidents and service requests with hands-on troubleshooting.
• Monitor ESP Scheduler activities and optimize batch workloads.
• Coordinate mainframe upgrades with app teams and providers to minimize downtime.
• Provide primary support for Endevor, Terminal Emulator, Control-D and related tools.
• Support audit and compliance activities with proper documentation.
• Contribute architectural input and best-practice guidance for mainframe applications.
• Support real-time integrations and web services connecting distributed platforms.
