Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a seasoned Mainframe Engineer to design, develop, test, and support mainframe systems. You will publish roadmaps for language and tools, and coordinate migrations across departments, supporting agile delivery.

Applicants should be experienced with COBOL, CICS, SAS, MQ, and mainframe hardware, and be prepared to work on a W2 basis with benefits. Remote options may apply depending on client requirements.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of AmTrust accounting system experience.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS or comparable experience with extensive professional experience.
• Expert knowledge of mainframe operating systems and hardware.
• Strong knowledge of TSO and mainframe technology.
• Experience with COBOL, CICS, SAS, and MQ.
• Background in Wealth and Asset Management.
• Knowledge of functional software design and development best practices.
• Experience with Git and GitHub.
• Understanding of software development methodologies.
• Strong problem solving and collaboration skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as mainframe subject matter expert.
• Coordinate cross-department mainframe migrations.
• Develop and implement features while improving product quality.
• Lead agile ceremonies as part of squad.
• Document complex systems for handover.
• Drive architecture across multiple services.
• Automate processes and write maintainable, testable code.
• Partner with operations to drive service improvements.
