First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO) is seeking a Senior Mainframe Engineer to lead z/OS modernization within our managed services team. You will champion standardization of upgrades, drive efficiency, and ensure reliable delivery across client environments.

The role requires deep technical expertise and leadership to mentor staff, develop rollout templates, and advance automation. Remote work is supported with potential travel; FNBO offers competitive pay and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Mainframe Senior Systems Engineer.
• Deep understanding of z/OS components and subsystems.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and drive standardization.

Responsabilités

• Serve as a technical leader, guiding best practices and mentoring team members on z/OS upgrades.
• Design and implement standardized approaches for z/OS upgrades and mass maintenance.
• Lead efforts to optimize system performance and reduce operational complexity.
• Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of IBM and ISV software.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan OS upgrades with minimal business impact.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and templates for OS rollouts.
• Drive adoption of new technologies and automation frameworks.
• Act as SME for mainframe projects and provide governance.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for escalated incidents beyond Level 1.
• Participate in after-hours and weekend support as required.
