Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a seasoned mainframe engineer to translate business needs into complex stock plan services on a Z/OS mainframe. You’ll work in an Agile team, driving development, testing, and support across multiple locations including Dallas, Jersey City, and Merrimack, NH.

You will leverage COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, VSAM, MQ-Series, and SQL, with performance tuning and capacity planning using Strobe/iStrobe and related tools. Strong collaboration and end-to-end delivery are required.

Qualifications

• Expertise in defining, developing, and leading an interactive team to implement scalable solutions.
• Mainframe development experience with COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, VSAM, MQ-Series, SQL.
• Experience in mainframe performance tuning and capacity planning to reduce I/Os and CPU Time.

Responsibilities

• Performing as a mainframe engineer within an Agile team, from requirements through end-to-end testing.
• Lead architecture discussions to ensure scalability and standards conformance.
• Provide on-site and on-call support as needed within a cross-functional crisis management team.
• Develop applications on complex projects across multiple platforms and subsystems.
• Advise on testing tools and methodologies and review test plans.
• Resolve technical roadblocks involving multiple technologies and document improvements.
